Homestay Hosting Opportunity from July 21-August 2 Mexican Youth Program "Jovenes en Accion"

Would you or someone you know be interested in hosting an exchange student for two weeks this summer? We will be hosting a delegation of 13 high school students from Mexico this July, and are actively searching for host families.

Opening your home to an international youth delegate is a wonderful way to expand your cultural horizons and make a lasting connection. Students are between 15-17 years old, fluent in English, and will be in Kansas City to meet with resources that will aid them in the creating service projects for their home communities.

Host families provide students with their own bed, breakfast and dinner, and a welcoming environment during their time in KC. Students will participate in programming from 9 to 5 during weekdays, and a driver will pick them up and drop them off at your house each day. On evenings and weekends, you will have the opportunity to take your student to cultural events and familiarize them with life in the US. If you have a student in high school, they will be invited to participate in weekday activities with the Mexican youth.

The International Visitors Council of Greater Kansas City is a non-profit volunteer service organization whose purpose is to improve global understanding and make peace through exchange programs between international visitors and Americans in our communities. KCIVC promotes citizen diplomacy by person-to-person contacts to help shape United States foreign relations "one handshake at a time."

Our Programs provide the link between prominent international leaders and professionals and their United States counterparts.  Through professional meetings, school visits, events, and home hospitality we connect people from around the world with these Citizen Diplomats in western Missouri and the state of Kansas.

Our Visitors represent emerging leaders from around the world. These visitors literally "bring the world" to Greater Kansas City. They provide a first-hand opportunity for us to learn about the cultures and life in the 100 or more countries represented through these exchange and leadership programs, as they learn more about the real life of Americans in the United States.

KCIVC has been in existence for 60 years. We are incorporated as an independent, non-profit organization with a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service.
