Global Ties KC Celebrates 70 Years of Cultural Exchange

As Global Ties KC commemorates its 70th anniversary, the organization embarks on an exciting campaign showcasing the transformative impact of global exchange and citizen diplomacy. Founded in 1954 by a group of forward-thinking individuals in Kansas City, Global Ties KC has been pivotal in connecting thousands of international professionals and emerging leaders with their counterparts in the Heartland.

To celebrate this significant milestone, Global Ties KC is launching the #70Years70Stories campaign, set to debut on March 26, 2024. Featuring 70 captivating stories, each one of them highlights the profound influence of global exchange on individuals, communities, and the world at large. These stories will be shared across various platforms and mediums, offering insight into the power of citizen diplomacy on a personal level and fostering cultural understanding while building lasting relationships.

“Global Ties KC believes in the importance of cross-cultural engagement and shared understanding,” said Courtney Brooks, President and CEO of Global Ties KC. “Through these carefully curated 70 stories, we aim to showcase the long-lasting impact of citizen diplomacy and person-to-person exchange, to inspire others to embrace diversity and unity.”

In addition to the storytelling campaign with stories dating from 1954 to 2024, Global Ties KC will host its annual community engagement and fundraiser event on May 9, 2024. This event serves as a platform for supporters and partners to join in celebrating cultural diversity and global connections while contributing to the organization’s mission and supporting youth development.
